Recruit a friend leveling 1-59 in one day, totally free

Some folks have been wondering if it is possible to use RAF leveling to get a duo to 59 in one day totally free, without paying for the WoW box and one month of play time.  The answer is yes, this is possible, but a little trickier.

If you only use the basic trial account, you are restricted to 10 days of play time with the RAF, so you have to get all your leveling done in that time period.  You also have restrictions on basic interaction and can't trade more than one item at a time to the trial account.

What it comes down to is a question of convenience.  If you just want to get one toon up to 60 very fast - in a couple days - and just bot along your RAF toon for the exp benefits, I'd suggest the free trial method.  Don't bother upgrading to 30 days and save the $15.

Now, if you want to get 2 or more characters to 59, it's better to upgrade to the 30 days on your RAF account.

This is especially true if you're going to be questing to level instead of doing instances, because you'll inevitably end up doing some of those irritating "collect 50 stupid goretusk livers that won't drop because not all pigs have livers in Westfall" quests.

So if you want to just RAF one character to 59+ on your main account, go with the free trial and save yourself several days of leveling.  If you want to level up a whole stable of alts, pay for the 30 days -- you'll need it to complete all your characters' exp.

RAF Leveling Guide

So you want to level up to 80 as fast as possible in WoW, within a week or less (meaning an actual week, not a week /played time). Assuming that you have some experience with the game and know where each instance is, you can easily do this by yourself. Read this RAF leveling guide to find out how.

Note - you will be primarily using what I call "raf instance leveling", which is running through instances instead of questing to avoid as much downtime as possible.

You will need:

A WoW basic box ($15-20 in most stores)
A decent computer capable of running three WoW clients simultaneously
A week (ideally a month, but you can do it in a week) of time to devote to leveling

Yep, that's it.

The first step you need to take is to buy the basic WoW package. You're going to be leveling with RAF (refer-a-friend) that will require you to set up a new account. You are going to let this account expire after 30 days, but you need the basic package to get started.

Once you have your WoW fresh box in hand, send a trial account invitation to another email account that you own. You will receive a code to input to start your fresh WoW account – the RAF account – that you will level alongside with your regular account to receive the experience bonus that comes with RAF. Note: this bonus gives you triple exp, which is even better than rested, meaning you get three times the normal experience for quests and mob kills.

Okay, now your second account is set up, it's time to get some basics out of the way. First you need to open two clients on your computer (or if you have two computers that are both capable of running the game, open WoW on your other PC). Log in to your RAF account and your normal account, then do the quests from level 1-10. You will need to be in the same area to receive the exp bonus, so you have to level up in the same area.

Important note: if your regular account has BC installed and you want to level a draenei/blood elf OR you prefer to level in the BC starting zones, you are going to need to get an upgrade to BC on the RAF account or simply summon your draenei/belf to where your other character is, in a normal starting zone.

Once you're level 10, equip your characters with the best bags you can, empty them, and head on down to Deadmines or RFC depending on your faction, then get a third client open and load up a level 80 to run your characters through. Don't bother with macros or anything; they're just going to slow you down. Just be careful not to leave your lowbies too far back in the dungeon or else patrols may sneak up and eat you.
